The University of Lagos (UNILAG) School of Foundation Studies (SFS) has officially released its Admission List for the 2024/2025 academic session. If you’re one of the applicants eagerly awaiting your results, this is the moment you’ve been waiting for! Here’s everything you need to know about what comes next.
Congratulations to Successful Candidates! Candidates who scored 40% or higher in the School of Foundation Studies Entrance Examination have been offered provisional admission. If your name appears on the admission list, congratulations—you’re one step closer to starting your academic journey at UNILAG!
All admitted students must undergo a mandatory Screening Exercise from Wednesday, October 2 to Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Multipurpose Hall. The screening will take place daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Ensure that you attend, as this is an essential step in the admission process.
Important Dates to Keep in Mind:
- Lectures Begin: Monday, October 7, 2024
- Compulsory Orientation Program: Thursday, October 17, 2024
How to Prepare for the Screening Exercise
Follow this step-by-step guide to ensure you’re ready for the screening:
- Log in to the official Student Portal at UNILAG Foundation Portal
- Click on the “Student Page” and log in using:
- Username: Your application number (e.g. M23323999)
- Password: Your surname in lowercase (e.g. smith)
- Update Your Biodata: Ensure your names are in the correct order (Surname, First Name, Other Name) and match your birth certificate, NIN, and “O” Level results. Print out the updated Biodata Form for reference.
- Special Steps for Children of UNILAG/LUTH Staff: If you are the child of a current or retired staff member, visit the HRMD Office on the 2nd floor of the Senate House to update your biological status. Afterward, return to the portal to complete the Biodata update reflecting the reduced staff tuition fee.
- Print Your Admission Letter: After updating your Biodata, download and print your Provisional Admission Letter from the portal. Carefully read the conditions outlined in the Acceptance Letter. If you agree, generate the Pay Advice for the acceptance fee.
- Pay Your Acceptance and ID Card Fees:
- Pay the sum of N28,500 for acceptance and ID card fees via the university’s payment platform.
- After payment, print your Acceptance Letter, sign it, and get ready for the screening exercise.
Documents to Bring to the Screening
On the day of your screening, make sure you bring the following documents:
- NIN Slip
- Offer of Admission Letter
- Signed Acceptance Letter/Evidence of Acceptance Fee Payment
- Birth Certificate
- Secondary School Testimonial
- “O” Level Result
- Reference Letter from a clergy member, imam, lawyer, or senior public servant
- Original Copies and 2 Photocopies of all credentials
What Happens After Screening?
Once the screening is completed:
- Return to the UNILAG Foundation Portal and log in to generate your updated Pay Advice, which will now include tuition fees.
- Tuition Fee Payment: It is mandatory to pay at least 50% of your tuition fees before lectures begin. Use the Pay Advice to proceed with the payment at the bank.

Classes will begin promptly on Monday, October 7, 2024, so be sure to complete all payments and administrative tasks ahead of time. Lectures will run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., following the lecture timetable.
